ACADEMIC POLICY |
SENIOR SCHOOL (Y7-Y13) |

EXAMINATION
There will only be two examinations held in the Senior School i.e. Mid Year and Final Exam, for the total aggregate.
Average of the Mid Year Exam and Final Exam will be the Total/ Final Aggregate.
Students joining the School late or after Mid Year Exam will not qualify for the Top Achievers Award, even if they have scored the highest marks in any of the subject in the Final Exams.
Continual Assessments (C.A) Grades) are an integral part of the Examination Percentage.
There will not be makeup test or exam if a student has failed to take any of the examinations or missed any CA unless genuine and valid medical certificate is provided within a week.
It is compulsory for Y12 students to appear for AS exams at the end of Year12.
If a student fails to achieve minimum of 50% in Y12 Final School Examination, consideration will be given to
CIE AS Results and student will be promoted only if he/ she achieves minimum of Grade C.
Student will not be allowed to appear in the External Examination as a regular candidate :
If he/she has not appeared in Mid Year and Final Examinations in Y9 and Y10.
If he/she is appearing in a subject that he/she has not opted & studied in the School. |

| SUBJECT SELECTION |
| |
Subject choice must be made by a student after considerate thinking and sheer interest. Student will not be allowed to drop a subject once he/ she has opted that subject in any of the levels from Y9 – Y13.
In case student refuses to study or appear in exam for the opted subject, it will reflect as 'U' (Ungraded) in his / her report card.
Minimum Subject Selection Criteria mentioned in Subject Option Form for IGCSE & A Level must be followed.
A Level Students will only be able to register for June exams. No entries will be allowed for November sessions. The same applies for the SAT Examinations.

| Positions/ Awards |
| |
Y7 – Y8: Top Positions will be awarded to a student achieving the highest overall score across the same level. Subject Awards will also be given to the Top Achievers across the level.
Y9 – Y13: Awards will be given to students achieving the highest score in any subject across the same level.
Y13: Special Awards and graduation [only for students who have successfully completed the AL level program].
Un-graded:
A student will be given 'U' on the report card If he / she is absent for the exam |

| Extended and Core Curriculum |
Y10 students will be required to clear all CIE subjects with a minimum of 60% in the Final School Examinations to enter for extended paper in External examinations.

A level
Students with core in IGCSE cannot enter for A –levels.
Y12 students attaining below 60% in any subject in their Final Examinations will automatically be registered for AS curriculum by the end of Y13. |

| ABSENTEEISM |
Student absence must not exceed 30 days in order to be promoted to the next year level.
No retest for continual assessments (C.A) i.e. test, C.W, and H.W will be taken without a valid medical reason or proof and at the discretion of administration.
No homework or class work will be graded for long leave. Please note that in such cases, C.A will be affected as it is 40% of the examinations.
It is imperative for parents to work their vacation to coincide with the school calendar, in order to enable their children to complete the school year successfully.

| CODE OF CONDUCT |
| Uniform |
Any student entering school without the complete proper School uniform will not be allowed entry for lessons and hence will either be sent home or given ‘explanation’. This also applies to the students even if they are on leave and have come to school for other reasons i.e. academic/ administrative related.
Strictly adhere to the uniform policy ). |

Medium of instruction:
Students are strictly prohibited to talk in any language other than English except for those in a language class (Urdu /Arabic class). The penalty for defiant students will be explanation/ detention. |

Suspension/ Demerit:
Students coming late for their classes,found misbehaving with class fellows, using foul language, being impolite to teachers and school staff , or violating any school rules will be dealt with severe penalties that may include out of school suspension for as long as a week or even expulsion , at the discretion of the Administration. |

Un allowed items:
Students under no circumstances are allowed to bring to school the following items:
Cell phones, cassettes/ CD players, cricket balls, cameras, jewelry, dangerous weapon, fireworks, balloons, cigarettes etc. |

| Miscellaneous: |
It is the responsibility of the students to keep the classroom, School grounds, and assembly areas tidy and free of all litter.
Breakage of equipment or of any school property will incur a penalty fine.
Food may only be consumed at break times. Eating in classrooms is strictly forbidden. Chewing gum is not allowed at any times. |

Sciences- Physics, Chemistry, Biology
Commerce- Accounting, Economics, Business Studies
Humanity & Creativity- Islamiyat, Pak. St, Art & Design, IT, Social Studies |
